Geriatric & end-of-life issues
Older adults face a unique set of challenges as they enter into the "twilight" of their lives. These difficult transitions can lead to depression, isolative tendencies, hopelessness, and even suicidal ideations. In working with geriatric populations, we understand the compassion and patience needed to help navigate painful end-of-life issues.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps older adults struggling with negative emotions accept their life stage and come to appropriate responses in situations which prevent them from moving forward with the remainder of their lives. We believe the "golden years" can really become the "best years."
There's always hope for a brighter future, no matter how old you are.
